Balogun Fulani-Ishola who serves as the Kwara State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and the party’s secretary Olabode Adekanye, were kidnapped yesterday.
Sulyman Buhari, the spokesman for the party in the state, confirmed this piece of news on Friday.
The two key members of the party were taken in the morning at Abuja-Lokoja highway while returning to Ilorin from Abuja.
This is following a worrying trend in which high profile political figures are being kidnapped by gunmen. A little while ago former Senator, Mrs. Iyabo Anisulowo, was abducted on her way back from her farm.
The APC has therefore urged the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase, to free party chair and secretary from their assailants.
The APC also said that other security agencies in the country should concentrate all their strength into making sure both the chairman and secretary are returned to their families safely.
So far no demands have been made and there has been no contact with the kidnappers.
