The Fact-finding/Reconciliation Committee set up by the All Progressives Congress (APC) on May 9 to look into the Edo crisis, submitted its report on Wednesday in Abuja to the party’s national chairman.
Mr Olagunsoye Oyinlola, who submitted the report to the APC National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun assured the party that unity and amity would prevail in Edo chapter of the party.
It would be recalled that in April, the party was embroiled in crisis following alleged reports of disharmony between Gov. Adams Oshiomhole and his deputy, Dr Pius Odubu.
Also, there was a rowdy session in the Edo House of Assembly, where 16 out of 24 members impeached the Speaker, Mr Victor Edoror.
According to Oyinlola, the five-man committee had sessions with all stakeholders, adding that should the report be implemented , APC would be stronger in Edo.
“In the course of carrying out this assignment, we took briefs from the governor and the deputy governor.
“We had sessions with the Honourable Speaker and members of the Edo State House of Assembly.
“We discussed with the party’s exco and the people we can now call the aspiring aspirants, because some will collect their forms and later you will not know whether they are still aspirants.

“Your excellency, I must put it on record that the great support that we got from all stake holders in Edo made our job a lot easier.’’
Receiving the report, Odigie-Oyegun thanked the committee members for speedily completing the assignment within its two-week mandate.
“I deliberately put together this high-level, high-profile committee because of the sensitivity of the mission not only because I am also an indigene of Edo.
“So I want to thank you all very much not only because you accepted speedily but I think you were in Edo within 48 hours of your being informed of the assignment you were about to undertake.

“I am pleased at the level of your work. I haven’t read your report yet, but I know that I haven’t gotten one single criticism from one single stake holder, about the work that this committee did.’’
