The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) have been split into factions over the proposed Nationwide strike.
The Joe Ajaero-led faction of the NLC, agreed to back out of the strike.
Briefing newsmen after the meeting with the faction, Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State said both parties had agreed to set up a framework to review the new fuel pump price, national minimum wage and address other issues involved.
The meeting, according to him, also agreed to set up the board of Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA), because it was part of the issues in contention.
The Ayuba Wabba faction has also been criticised of not doing anything to protect workers rights, saying “workers are being owed several months salaries and the NLC did not go on strike.”
The Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) has also been commended for seeing reasons and pulled out of the strike.
