The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi on Tuesday applied both election and consensus in choosing its state executives, reports the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN)
Announcing the outcome of the State Congress, Mr Nnolim Nnazi, Chairman, PDP Bauchi State Congress Committee, said that elections were conducted in positions with more than one contestants while candidates contesting unopposed, were adopted.
He said the exercise was conducted peacefully and all guidelines were strictly adhered to.
In his remarks, new Chairman of the party in the state, Alhaji Hamza Ibrahim, assured that he and his team were determined to revamp the party.
“I promise to observe all the tenet of democracy as enshrined in the PDP manifesto.
“I also promise to follow due process in all dealings and therefore call on all of you for maximum support to move the party forward,” he said.
In his speech, the out-going chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Bayero, urged the new leaders of the party to carry all members along.
Some of new state executives of the party are Garba Dahiru (Deputy Chairman) Saminu Chenede (Secretary),Yusha’u Bala (Youth Leader) and Hafsat Adamu (Women Leader).
Others are Ahmed Toro (Vice Chairman I), Haruna Shittu (Vice Chairman II), Nuhu Zaki (Vice Chairman III), Bako Sade (Organising Secretary), Ummah Babayo (Financial Secretary), Alhaji Yahaya Inuwa (Publicity Secretary) and Alhaji Bala Ahmed (Treasurer).
