A Nigerian musician living in the United States has been sentenced to over three years in jail following his guilty plea to stealing tax refund last year.

The 29-years-old Nigerian musician identified as Olufunsho Adeshina who lived in St. Louis was on Thursday April 21 sentenced to over three years for collecting nearly $800,000 from more than 50 refunds by filing false tax returns under other people’s names.

Investigations further revealed that the guitarist tried to steal more than $3 million in fake tax refunds which didn’t go through.

Criminal complaint against Adeshina maintained that over $200,000 has flowed into more than 20 accounts controlled by Adeshina since the year started.
