Nnamdi Kanu’s Trial: IPOB Issues Surprising New Statement

1 Min Read
Nnamdi Kanu

IPOB has described the reported ICC trial against its leader Nnamdi Kanu as a good omen.

The Biafran group says they have instructed their lawyers in Amsterdam to convey its willingness to stand trial as well as seek the ICC to prioritize the allegation

In a criminal complaint filed by a civil rights activist Albert Ella, through his lawyer, Edward Omaga of Graylaw Solicitors, Kanu and the IPOB were accused of committing heinous crimes against Nigerians.

But according to the group, should the petition become a reality then it is a good omen, The Sun reports.

A statement by the spokespersons of IPOB, Dr. Clifford Iroanya and Emma Mmezu reads: “We are praying fervently that this news is actually true and not just a fiction. We, IPOB, wholeheartedly welcome this attempt to justify the continued illegal detention of our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu by purportedly charging him to ICC

“We have instructed our lawyers in Amsterdam to convey our willingness to stand trial as well as seek the ICC to prioritize the allegation.”
