The Kaduna State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has registered 65 private security companies in the state.
Its Public Relation Officer, Mr Orndiir Terzungwe, said in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Kaduna.
He said that the command undertakes weekly appraisal of the companies to ensure compliance with laid down rules governing their operation.
“We also conduct quarterly training for the operatives of the private security companies, sometimes based on request,” he said.
Terzungwe added that workshops were often organized for the operatives “to forestall any breach of security”.
“Any private security company operating without our approval is illegal and shall be closed and sanctioned if found,” he said.(NAN)
