DStv Basketball League: Lagos Customs record double victory over Oluyole Warriors

2 Min Read

The Customs Basketball Club of Lagos on Saturday completed a double over visiting Oluyole Warriors of Ibadan with a 67-40 victory in their Atlantic Conference encounter of the ongoing DStv Basketball League.

Customs had on Friday beaten Oluyole Warriors, 67-63 in a well contested first leg encounter played at the Indoor Sport Hall of the National Stadium, Lagos.

Customs uncompromising performance in the second leg saw their star players, Abayomi Balogun, Solomon Ajaegbe recording 15 points each to make Oluyole very ordinary.

Oluoyle Warriors were a depleted team all through the game and could not leave up to the expectations of their fans when they pushed Customs to the wall in the first match.

They struggled in all departments of the game and could not keep up with the pace and tenacity of Customs power play.

Coach Scot Nnaji of the Custom’s team told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) after the match that his players played very well to earn their win.

“I am impressed with their performance; this is the kind of commitment we ask from them on every match day,’’ Nnaji said.

Meanwhile, Coach Taiwo Sobogun of Warriors told NAN that his team had disappointed him, adding that something needed to be done quickly.

“They played poorly and did not leave up to the expectations; they made too many unforced errors and did not play as a team.

“There is a lot of work on and we will surely bounce back from the losses,’’ Sobogun said. (NAN)
