With the Governorship election in Edo moving ever closer, a member of the House of Representatives, Mr. Joseph Edionwele, has said that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was ready to usurp the Governor Adams Oshiomhole-led All Progressives Congress, APC.
Edionwele, who represents Esan West/Esan Central/Igueben federal constituency of Edo State, believes that the non-performance of the APC government in the state had contributed in making the governorship election in the state an easy task for the PDP.
Speaking in Abuja, the lawmaker said: “It is not an issue of how prepared we (PDP) are. In Edo State, we are ready for change. We have passed through a lot of pains and troubles. PDP will certainly take over in September.”
Confident words from Edionwele and he explained why: “The confidence is that Oshiomhole has not done anything. Nothing has changed. Take it sector by sector. In roads, nothing has changed. In the health sector, nothing has changed. There is no legacy the governor is leaving behind.”
He said that he believed the PDP will bounce back in Edo State because the people were suffering untold hardship due to over taxation imposed on the people by the APC government.
