Following the recent news about the inability of the Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, to pay the March Salary of Workers in the state based on revenue and allocation received from the Federal Government, the State Government has on Tuesday ordered 250 of its senior staff to proceed on compulsory leave.
The 250 senior staffs placed on the 30-days compulsory leave cuts across the State’s 61 Local Government Development Areas, LCDAs.
The order by the state government however affects only senor staff members on salary grade level 15.
The Governor, directing the grade level 15 officers to appear at the State’s Local Government Service Commission made the disclosure adding that online grade level 14 officers known as ‘Council Managers’ would head the LCDAs.
Aregbesola then further directed the 250 senior staff to proceed on a compulsory 30-day leave for administrative convenience starting on Monday, 21st March. He added that there was no need for the senior staffs in the local government “but they could be redeployed to other ministries where their services would be needed.”
