President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday at the State House, Abuja declared open the 2-day National Economic Council (NEC) retreat.
While delivering his address at the event, the president said the NEC retreat was “to generate immediate, medium and long-term viable policy solutions to the economic challenges facing us at both the Federal and State levels.”
According to him, the retreat would do well to focus on the areas of power, agriculture, housing and manufacturing, which constitutes some of the biggest challenges facing the nation at the moment.
The president said he would not expect the retreat to focus on education, science and technology because they require “a whole retreat by themselves”.
