The Benue State All Progressive Party, APC, has degenerated into a house of commotion as on Monday, the state Party Chairman, Abba Yaro and a party member Noah McDickson were allegedly involved in a fracas during a meeting.
Sources revealed that the State Party Chairman, Yaro attacked the Party member for accusing the State APC Elders’ Forum of working against the Party.
News agency DAILY POST confirmed the incident through a phone conversation with the allegedly attacked party member, McDickson who attributed his safety to the timely intervention of some APC leaders including Chief Nelson Alapa.
He explained; “when the state chairman sighted me, he ordered security men on ground to throw me out.”
“The timely intervention of Chief Nelson Alapa and other members of the APC saved me from being lynched by the thugs. I was being pushed and beaten like a small boy,” he claimed.
Explaining the cause of the fracas, McDickson said; “You could recall that I was recently suspended on the ground that I worked against the party at the just concluded rerun in Benue South. It is laughable because I was not even on ground during the rerun, I wonder how I was able to work against our party.
“If you noticed that I am involved in anti-party activities, why didn’t you set up a disciplinary committee to investigate the claim, instead of chasing me up and down?” He added.
