A Croatian man on wheelchair has found a way to channel his disability to aid his criminal mind as he robbed a bank on Friday after passers-by had helped him enter the banking premises.
The 35-year-old man confined to the wheelchair was reported to have screamed, “I have a bomb!” at a branch of Austria’s Erste Bank in downtown Zagreb.
The disabled man thereafter forced officials in the bank to hand over the cash in their register to him.
The local newspaper reported that the crime happened right after the man in wheelchair thanked passers-by for helping him gain access into the bank.
The ‘Wheelchair Robber’ was reported to have made away with the sum of over 50,000 kunas ($7,300) from the bank and headed straight for a taxi station where the driver, unaware of the criminal act his client had just committed helped him into the vehicle and carefully packed his wheelchair into the taxi’s trunk.
The wheelchair Robber was finally arrested by security operatives on his way towards his destination in Northern town of Bjelovar.
