The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has demoted top civil servants involved in the 2016 budget inflation.
According to reports, about 184 of the officials were transfer to lesser establishments as part of disciplinary measures for influencing the figures of the 2016 budget.
22 officials of the Budget Office were reported to have also been affected by the massive redeployment and demotion while others were altogether removed from budget related duties.
Four of the indicted 22 top officials of the budget office were reported to have been level 17 civil servants, six Deputy Directors while the remaining 12 were assistant directors in the Budget Office.
Following the redeployment, 14 other Directors have been deployed to take over from the redeployed personnel with immediate effect.
