The Nigerian Army has confirmed the death of its Chief of Training and Operations, Maj. Gen. Yushau Abubakar who died in a road accident today.
The demise of the Chief of Training and Operation was announced in a statement released by the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman.
In the statement, Col. Sani said that Abubakar died in the accident which occured along the Maiduguri-Damaturu Road. Adding that the deceased was in the car with the General Officer Commanding the 3 Division of the Nigerian Army, Jos, Maj. Gen. Muhammed Aliyu, who sustained major injuries and is being treated.
Col. Sani Usman, in the statement said; “The Nigerian Army has confirmed the death of Chief of Training and Operations of the Army, Major General Yushau Mahmood Abubakar in a road accident along Maiduguri-Damaturu Road today. He was the Theatre Commander, Operation Lafiya Dole before his recent redeployment to Army Headquarters, Abuja.
“The road accident also involved the Acting General Officer Commanding 3 Division, Brigadier General MSA Aliyu who sustained some injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment.”
