The popular Kannywood actress, Aisha Dankano, has died after suffering from a brief illness.
Family source said Dankano, also known as Sima, died on Tuesday night and was buried according to Islamic rites on Wednesday mornng.
Her death is particularly tragic as she was less than 40 years-of-age when she passed away from the illness, the nature of which has not been made public.
Fellow actor and family friend of the deceased, Abdul`Ziz Dan Small, confirmed that Aisha had died, adding that Aisha passed on peacefully at home in the Gwammaja area of Kano state.
Aisha died at about 2pm in the night, Abdullahi said.
“We are all in a sober mood in the Kannywood industry at the moment.
“We might not get her replacement in the industry. She was a fantastic, creative actress,” Abdul`Ziz Dan Small said.
Another actress, Hajara Usman, said she could not believe it when she heard the news of Aisha’s passing away.
“I almost fainted because she was very close to me. I will dearly miss her, a good friend and sister,” she said.
Known for her roles in films as Jarumai, Jarumai Two and Dan Tijara, and the last and latest one Na` Hauwa, Aisha was a very popular actress amongst the movie-loving public.
She was particularly noted for playing the role of villain in several films.
She is survived by her husband and children.
One of her children, a girl, will be celebrating her birthday next week, it was gathered.
