Twice In Two Years: Gunmen Abduct Jonathan’s Foster Father

1 Min Read
The phones no longer ring but the blames are still following Goodluck Jonathan.

For the second time in as many years, unknown gunmen have abducted 72-year-old Chief Inengite Ntabai, an uncle and foster father of immediate-past President Goodluck Jonathan.

The prominent chief was abducted from his home in Otuoke in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State at 3.30am on Wednesday by seven heavily-armed men, Vanguard reports.

Recall that Chief Ntabai was equally abducted on February 23, 2014, by 10 gunmen who stormed his home.

Recounting his experience then, the septuagenarian said he was beaten with gun butt and kicked on the floor.

Chief Ntabai was released three weeks after his abduction, with the police saying no ransom was paid, although the abductors had demanded a ransom fee of N30 million.

Information about this latest kidnapping of the community leader is sketchy as at the time of filing this report.
