Boko Haram: FG Directs Immediate Deployment Of Security Agents To IDP Camps

2 Min Read

The Federal government has urged security agencies to put new measures in place to guard against suicide attacks on camps of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and sent its profound condolences to the families of the victims of Dikwa IDPs camp suicide attack.

The government’s condolence was contained in a statement from the office of the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, issued by his spokesman, Laolu Akande.

Two suicide bombers had attacked the ID camp in Dikwa, Borno State, on Tuesday morning, killing at least 51 persons and injuring over 70 others.

The government also condoled with the entire people and government of the state, praying that the Almighty God would comfort them and grant the injured persons quick recovery.

The Vice President stated that it was indeed regrettable that the heartless terrorists chose to unleash their wickedness on people who were taking refuge from previous acts of destruction in their homes.

He reassured the nation that the full weight of the Federal Government’s force would be deployed to hunt down the perpetrators of the evil act and also to confront terrorists continuously in the protection of life, liberty and property of all Nigerians.

“There will be no hiding place for terrorists,” the Vice President stressed.

Professor Osinbajo has also given directives that formidable security in and around the IDP Camps in the country be beefed up and renewed measures put in place to guard against future occurrences.

The Vice President told the people of Borno State and Nigerians that the commitment of the Federal Government to safety of lives and property continues to be of paramount concern to the Buhari administration.
