The Supreme Court has sacked Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Anambra state lawmakers including Stella Oduah, Andy Ubah from the senate.
It would be recalled that an Appeal court had earlier sacked Senator Uche Ekwunife Anambra Central) ordering fresh elections within 90 days.
Both Oduah and Uba were elected on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP. With the latest rulings, PDP no longer have any senator from Anambra State.
The two national legislators who represent Anambra South and Anambra North senatorial zones, respectively, were said to have been put on judicial notice since December 7, 2015, by the Court of Appeal Tribunal sitting in Enugu, in the details of its verdict in the matter between Senator Uche Ekwunife vs Chief Victor Umeh.
Oduah was a former Minister of Aviation, while Ubah was a former Special Adviser to former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Domestic Affairs.
To replace them, according to the Supreme Court, are Chris Ubah (Anambra South) and Annie Okonkwo (Anambra Central).
According to the Court of Appeal, Ekwunife was not a product of any known valid party primary and subsequently dumped her party, the PDP, for the ruling All Progressives Congress.
They were sacked by the court in a ruling delivered today, January 29.
It would be recalled that the Independent National Electoral Commission had declared them winners after the senatorial election held last year.
