The Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission has said no one, including civil servants across the nation are left out of the ongoing anti-graft war in the country.
The disclosure was made on a program titled Frank Talk on 91.7 Rave FM Osogbo by the Chairman of ICPC, Mr Ekpo Nta.
The Chairman continued by saying corrupt civil servants provide help for the corrupt politicians in wreaking havoc on the nation’s treasury, stating that these corrupt civil servants are often beneficiaries of the loot.
“Today, political functionaries are answering charges of corruption before various courts of the land but I want to assure you that civil servants who are found culpable of corruption will soon start to face the wrath of the law. There is no hiding place for those who betrayed public trust reposed in them.”
Mr. Nta further pledge the allegiance of his agency in the fight against corruption at all levels in the country, he said his agency was dedicated to evolving a preventive mechanism that would help stem the tide of corruption in Nigeria.
“It is important for Nigeria to build a culture of anti-corruption and inculcate the virtues of high morals in young Nigerians through a concerted educational policy.”
In response to a question raised by listeners, the ICPC boss stressed that his agency is in no competition with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) stating that both agencies are complimentary in bringing corruption to an end.
