“Politicians are Worse than Robbers” – Armed Robbery Suspect

2 Min Read

A security man with an auto company and four others have been arrested by the police in Lagos State for an armed robbery attack on the Honda Place along Apapa Expressway.

The security man,  Garba Sanni, however, created a mild drama at the scene of the parade when he claimed that “there is no big deal in robbery. We are all robbers, including journalists.”

Other suspects arrested in connection with the Honda Place robbery included: Goodwin Okwudili, Obinna Ilojebe, Ndubusi Ike and Anthony Etemah.
Eleven suspected criminals including a house help and a United States of America deportee were, on Monday afternoon, paraded before newsmen by the image maker in charge of the state police command, Ngozi Braide, who stated that investigations into the cases had been concluded.

One of the paraded suspects, Garba Sanni, while speaking  with journalists confessed to have connived with the armed robbers that invaded the company.

Sanni said,  “Yes, I am thief; and what is the big deal about that? I did not even steal, I was there and I opened the gate for them so that they could take whatever they wanted.”

The armed robbery suspect asked rhetorically, “What about our politicians who are using their position and office to steal. You journalists, have you not done anything wrong before?

“We are all thieves in Nigeria and we should stop pretending or pointing accusing fingers at some people. How much is my salary? I am paid N12, 000 every month and you expect that I will not steal. How do you think that is possible?”  he asked again.
