IVF Doesn’t Affect Cognitive Development of Children – Study

1 Min Read

According to a recent study, In vitro fertilization does not contribute to developmental delays up to age three.

This study has displaced speculations that children born with IVF always have impaired growth one way or the other.

Dr. Edwina Yeung, one of the researchers said “When we began our study, there was little research on the potential effects of conception via fertility treatments on children.

“Our results provide reassurance to the thousands of couples who have relied on these treatments to establish their families.”

Researchers said the new study also said children conceived through IVF were not at greater risk with full-blown developmental disabilities such as learning disabilities, speech or language disorders, or autism.
