2 Min Read
Dr. Alex Otti

The Presidency may be declaring a State of Emergency in Abia State following the security reports which the security agencies in Abia State sent to the office of the President on Saturday over the mayhem unleashed on innocent citizens by thugs allegedly sponsored by the Abia PDP.

It was also gathered that a former President of the Senate, Chief Adolphus Wabara, led hundreds of supporters of Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, to block major roads īn the commercial capital, Aba, in protest at the appeal court’s removal of the governor.

Among major roads they blocked were Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway, Osisioma junction, Ogbor Hill and areas around Ariaria International Market.

They carried inscriptions that spoke of their rejection of the court’s verdict, ordering the removal of Ikpeazu and the inauguration of the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Alex Otti.

They vowed not to accept the verdict even as they said they would resist the alleged plan to inaugurate Otti on Monday.

Okezie Ikpeazu had after hearing the news of the Judgement said he will be proceeding to the Supreme Court to challenge the Decision of Justice Oyebisi Omoleye led five-member Appeal court panel which declared him an illegal Governor.

According to him, the Governor may likely not have the opportunity to Appeal the Judgement should Information at the disposal of the security agencies in Abia State come to fruition.
