Filling Stations Adjust Fuel Pump To N86.50k

1 Min Read

Most petrol stations in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) had complied with Federal Government’s directive to sell petrol at N86 per litre for NNPC retail stations and N86.50k for other marketers.

It was observed that while NNPC stations had adjusted their pump prices to N86 per litre, some stations owned by independent and major oil marketers remained unchanged especially by retailers in the satellite towns.

This was just as the federal government yesterday began enforcement of sale of fuel at the N86.50 per litre for marketers and N86 for NNPC retail stations across the country. The government announced the new prices for petrol on Tuesday.

A team from the Operations Department of the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency went round Abuja yesterday to enforce and monitor the level of compliance. The team led by the Assistant General Manager and Head of Operations, Mr. Victor Shidok, warned marketers against any form of sharp practices, stating that the agency would sanction any marketer caught cheating.

Shidok, however, expressed satisfaction with the level of compliance so far by marketers in the cityand assured that, it would extend to the satellite towns to ensure all marketers comply.
