Chelsea chief executive Ron Gourlay has revealed that the club are in talks with Frank Lampard over a new contract.
It appeared that the 34-year-old was on his way out of Stamford Bridge at the end of the season but it appears that the club have changed their mind.
Gourlay said: “Discussions with Frank Lampard are ongoing. But they must be kept confidential at this stage.”
Lampard has scored 199 goals for the west Londoners, three behind record goalscorer Bobby Tambling.
