The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, has described the hoarding of petroleum products which creates artificial scarcity and leads to panic buying as unpatriotic.
He said this over the weekend in Delta State where he promised to put in his best to ensure that the incessant fuel scarcity scourge becomes a thing of the past.
Kachikwu, who is also the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), also said he had directed that a special petrol supply intervention be put in place to ensure that Nigerians have a hitch-free Christmas and New Year celebrations.
According to him, the order was given to the Pipeline Products Marketing Company (PPMC) which is to embark on special deliveries of petroleum products to various sections of the country this yuletide.
