Former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd), and four others have been granted bail by an Abuja High Court on Friday in the sum of N250 million.
The accused persons are being tried on a 19-count charge bordering on money laundering and criminal breach of trust concerning funds for a $2.1 billion arms procurement deal that were allegedly mismanaged.
The Justice Husseini Baba Yusuf-led court also directed that the accused persons present a surety each who must be serving or retired civil servant not below the rank of a director.
Aside the ex-NSA, other accused persons being tried include former director at the NSA’s office, Shuaibu Salisu and a former Group GeneraL Manager of the NNPC, Aminu Baba Kusa.
Others are Acacia Holdings and Reliance Reference Hospital.
The presiding judge equally stated that the civil servant that must be produced by the accused persons must have a property within the jurisdiction of the court – in Abuja.
Furthermore, the court directed that the accused persons are to deposit copies of their international travel documents at the court registrar and notify the court of any plan to travel outside the Federal Capital Territory.
