A magistrate of the chief magistrate court sitting in the Federal Capital Territory has discharged Nnamdi Kanu, Radio Biafra director after the Department of State Security dropped its charges against him before the court.
Although the judge ruled, “The accused person is hereby discharged and the case struck out,” it is not yet uhuru for Mr. Kanu as the DSS intends to file charges before a higher court that can hear matters bordering on terrorism and treason.
Justice Adeniyi Ademola of the Federal High Court in Abuja is expected to rule on Kanu’s pending bail application on Thursday.
Recall Kanu was granted bail by the lower court, however the DSS obtained an order to keep him in custody.
