The local bourse closed on a positive note today as the All Share Index of the Nigerian Stock Exchange gained 0.75% (201 points), rebounding from a 1.94% (549 points) loss recorded yesterday.
The local bourse ended the day at 27,004.50 points, while Market Capitalization for the market at the close of trading today was N9.3 Trillion.
A total of 2,747 deals were struck today, a reduction from 3,061 deals recorded yesterday, while the total volume of shares traded on the floor today were 179,058,688 and the total value of transactions recorded today was N1.4 Billion.
NB led the gainers chart adding N4.3 to close at N116.31 followed by GUINNESS and PRESCO which added N1.6 and N1.3 close at N124.6 and N32.3 respectively; ZENITHBANK and PZ added N1.25 and N0.96 to close at N15.25 and N27.46 respectively.
The losers chart was led by DANGCEM who lost N2.19 to close with a share price of N160 followed by MANSARD and FIDSON who lost N0.13 and N0.13 to close with share prices of N2.61 and N2.56 respectively; CUTIX and LIVESTOCK lost N0.08 and N0.06 to close with share prices of N1.64 and N1.36 respectively.
The top five most actively traded shares by volume on the exchange today were LAWUNION with shares valued at N21 Million, MANSARD with shares valued at N80 Million, FBNH with shares valued at N76 Million, TRANSCORP with shares valued at N19 Million and ACCESS with shares valued at N69 Million. Market volume declined by 25.64%
The market breadth close positive as NB led 25 Gainers against 11 losers led by DANGCEM.
The market year to date is 21.50%.
