The All Share Index of the Nigerian Stock Exchange slumped to a second day of losses as bearish sentiments led to a 1.94% (549 points) loss after losing 1.08% (98 points) yesterday.
The local bourse ended the day at 27,004.50 points, while Market Capitalization for the market at the close of trading today was N9.28 Trillion.
A total of 3,061 deals were struck today, an increase from 2,785 deals recorded yesterday, while the total volume of shares traded on the floor today were 240,795,723 and the total value of transactions recorded today was N2.4 Billion.
SEPLAT led the gainers chart adding N10.35 to close at N217.35 followed by INTBREW and IKEJAHOTEL which added N0.39 and N0.14 close at N15.5 and N3.14 respectively; REDSTAREX and ACCESS added N0.1 and N0.09 to close at N4.2 and N4.91 respectively.
The losers chart was led by DANGCEM who lost N8.53 to close with a share price of N162.19 followed by INTBREW and IKEJAHOTEL who lost N1.9 and N0.99 to close with share prices of N123 and N112.01 respectively; REDSTAREX and ACCESS lost N0.98 and N0.66 to close with share prices of N18.68 and N36 respectively.
The top five most actively traded shares by volume on the exchange today were ZENITHBANK with shares valued at N856 Million, UBA with shares valued at N133 Million, ACCESS with shares valued at N129 Million, FBNH with shares valued at N91 Million and GUARANTY with shares valued at N344 Million.
The market breadth close negative as 15 Gainers led SEPLAT by and 24 losers led by DANGCEM.
