Mischief makers seeking to heat up the polity ahead of the 2015 elections have returned to the Federal Capital Territory with laughable campaign posters calling for votes for the re-election of President Jonathan and the election of Michael Aondakaa as Governor of Benue.
The campaign posters were placed at major streets and bus stops such as Berger bridge, Deeper life junction and streets in Wuse and Central Business District where major government and private business offices are located.
The message on the poster reads “A Reconciled Nigeria”, “2015”, “Jonathan for President” and “Aondoakaa for Governor, Benue state.”
The posters were clearly deciphered as being the handiwork of idle political jobbers and mischief makers because they did not carry any source or details about the sponsor.
According to one analyst, “There is no way someone posts a campaign poster not indicative of the sponsor, unless he wants to be mischievous Furthermore President Jonathan would not identify with someone like Aondakaa who is widely known for corruption and subversion of the rule of law in Nigeria.”
