A 47-year-old woman has been charged with murder after she fatally shot her 22-year-old son and another occupant of her car after they went celebrating her birthday.
The woman from Loiusiana, United States, identified as Dora Black apparently had too much to drink on Saturday after visiting a bar, in preparing for her birthday celebration on Sunday, and was in her car with her son, who was driving, and another 40-plus woman suspected to be her friend when she suddenly opened fire on them from the backseat.
While her son died on the spot, the other occupant of the car was lucky to escape with a non-fatal bullet wound to the shoulder.
The dead son, Patrick Hollingsworth, was later found by police with a bullet lodged in his head.
When interrogated, Blake said she had been kidnapped and managed to shoot the two people who kidnapped her.
The police said there was no evidence to support her theory of having been kidnapped.
Blake was taken to hospital to be examined, after which she was arrested on a two-count charge of murder and attempted murder.
She has been detained with a $1 million bond while investigation is ongoing.
