Audu Abubakar, All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Kogi state who died on Sunday will be buried Monday morning according to Muslim rites.
His opponent at the polls who is also the current governor of the state, Idris Wada has declared 7 days mourning.
In an election that was declared inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission, some speculate that Audu would have emerged as the winner.
Family sources reportedly revealed that he had a history of heart problems, they said he fell ill after casting his vote on Saturday.
Some said at some stage he started complaining of stomach cramps and he started vomiting although he was stabilised by doctors around him.
They added that just when air ambulance was organised to take him to the hospital, he died.
