Stock Exchange Ends Week With 0.26% Loss

The primary index of the Nigerian local bourse ended the day with a 0.26% loss, compared to a 0.06% loss recorded at the end of yesterday’s session. The ASI lost 72 basis points to end the day at 28,131.28 basis points, while Market Capitalization for the market at the close of trading today was N9.67 Trillion.

A total of 2,528 deals were struck today, an increase from 2,126 deals recorded yesterday, while the total volume of shares traded on the floor today were 142,614,012 and the total value of transactions recorded today was N1.05 Billion.

NESTLE the gainers chart today adding N7 to close at N817 followed by ACCESS and ETRANZACT which added N0.13 and N0.12 close at N4.79 and N2.58 respectively; LIVESTOCK and CUSTODYINS added N0.07 and N0.04 to close at N1.47 and N4.10 respectively.

The losers chart was led by SEPLAT who lost N7.9 to close with a share price of N222.10 followed by OKOMUOIL and OANDO who lost N1.15 and N0.66 to close with share prices of N26.33 and N6.2 respectively; GUARANTY and INTBREW lost N0.52 and N0.50 to close with share prices of N21.50 and N16.50 respectively.

The top five most actively traded shares by volume on the exchange today were ACCESS with shares valued at N243 Million, DIAMONDBK with shares valued at N49 Million, FBNH with shares valued at N47 Million, FIDELITYBK with shares valued at N7 Million and GUARANTY with shares valued at N112 Million.

Market breadth closed negative as NESTLE led 10 Gainers against 21 Losers led by SEPLAT.
