Kogi Youths Back Audu For Guber Race

2 Min Read

As the November 21 gubernatorial election in Kogi State draws nearer, the All Progressives Congress candidate, Prince Abubakar Audu, has continued to receive a show of support from groups within the state.

The latest is coming from Kogi youths under the auspices of 301 Confluence Club, who have promised to canvass support for the candidate.

This was disclosed to journalists on Saturday after a stakeholders meeting in Abuja.

The National Coordinator of the Club, Mr. Ibrahim Salihu, told the media that the decision to support Audu was based on his antecedents as governor of the state between 1999 and 2003.

He said the decision to support Audu was taken at a meeting attended by 90 percent of its members, after careful examination of all the candidates vying for the governorship seat.

Salihu said Audu was picked because he seemed to be the one with the best developmental agenda for the state.

“It is worthy to note that the infrastructural developments achieved during the tenure of Prince Abubakar Audu as governor of Kogi state started noise delving shortly after he left office in 2003.

“We, members of 301 Confluence Club have held series of consultative meetings both at home and in Abuja.

“The aim of our meetings is to examine all the governorship candidates presented by all the political parties contesting the governorship race in Kogi state,” he stressed.

According to Salihu, the APC candidate is the best to revive the dwindling fortune of the state.
