The All Share Index of the Nigerian Stock Exchange went down by 0.64% today after losing 0.03% yesterday, confining investors to two straight days of loses. The All Share Index moved down by 87 basis points to end the day at 28,981.12 basis points. Market Capitalization for the market at the close of trading today was N9.9 Trillion.
The total of number of deals recorded on the floor of the local bourse were 3,721, an increase from 2,713 deals recorded yesterday; the total volume of shares traded on the floor today were 317,408,589 while the total value of transactions recorded today was N1.8 Billion.
NESTLE led the gainers chart today adding N8.99 to close at N822.99, followed by UNILEVER and CAP which added N3.38 and N1 to close at N36.38 and N39 respectively; DANGCEM and IKEJAHOTEL added N1 and N0.14 to close at N163 and N3.5 respectively.
The losers chart was led by FO who lost N8 to close with a share price of N282 followed by NB and GUINNESS who lost N5.49 and N5.25 to close with share prices of N129.51 and N138 respectively; SEPLAT and FLOURMILL lost N5.04 and N0.90 to close with share prices of N225 and N20.90 respectively.
The top five most actively traded shares by volume on the exchange today were EQUITYASUR with shares valued at N35 Million, UBA with shares valued at N216 Million, TRANSCORP with shares valued at N111 Million, ACCESS with shares valued at N126 Million and ZENITHBANK with shares valued at N412 Million.
Market breadth closed negative as NESTLE led 18 Gainers against 25 Losers led by FO.
