Great minds think alike, they say. To this end, Watford striker Odion Ighalo has backed Golden Eaglets forward Victor Osimhen to succeed in his football career.
Victor Osimhen is the leading goal scorer, with nine goals, in the ongoing FIFA U-17 World Cup Chile 2015, and will be hoping to surpass the all-time goal scoring record in the competition.
The Ultimate Striker product is joint all-time record goal scorer in the competition’s 30-year history with Florent Sinama Pongolle of France and Mali’s Souleymane Coulibaly.
Ighalo believes Osimhen can make history when Nigeria meets Mali in the final of the competition by 11pm Nigerian time on Sunday.
In an interview with Goal.com, Ighalo said: “He’s a good striker, he’s young, he’s sharp, he has speed, he’s a good finisher and I hope he makes history.
“I’m wishing him all the very best and he should remain humble, he will rule his generation.”
Ighalo is presently on 7 goals after 12 games in the English Premier league and has recently been awarded the EPL Best African Player Award, beating Manchester City and Cote d’Ivoire’s Yaya Toure.
