A refrigerator repairer simply identified as Moshood was on Tuesday electrocuted to death while trying to restore electricity at Zone C Road 7 Ago Ayo Community behind Ilesa Garage.
It was learnt that this isn’t the first time he would be doing this for his community.
The victim was called upon to assist in separating overlapping wires when there was power outage. As he climbed on the ladder, he asked his wife to bring glove from his room but had climbed the pole before the wife arrived.
It was learnt that while the victim was on top of the pole, PHCN restored electricity and before he could detect this, he had gotten electrocuted.
The community raised alarm and went to put out the electricity from the transformer. It was too late for as the victim had passed on immediately.
The incident drew passersby attention and caused panic and confusion for several hour.
Some members of the community said that the man, who is a father of five, has always helped the community in electricity-related work with the permission from the PHCN.
Reacting, the Public Relations Officer, PHCN, Osogbo region, Miss Like Owoeye, said that the PHCN had always been educating people to report any fault to it to avoid causality.
