Chime Finally Discharged From London Hospital

2 Min Read

There are indications that Governor Sullivan Chime has been finally discharged from the Wellington Hospital at St. John’s Wood, North West London, where he underwent an endoscopy operation.

This comes barely four days after he was visited in the hospital by three state governors: Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers, Gabriel Suswam of Benue and Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom.

According to experts, endoscopy is a process where a health care provider uses to investigate symptoms in the digestive system including nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, difficulty swallowing and gastrointestinal bleeding. It is also used to confirm cancers of the digestive system.

However, it could not be ascertained how long the operation which took place on Wednesday lasted, but it was reliably gathered that the governor came into the ward and was discharged same day.

“He attended the Day Unity at the hospital and has been discharged; therefore he is no longer under the care of the endoscopy Unit any longer,” a source said.

The governor had been on admission at the hospital since last quarter of last year when he was first admitted till late November when he was discharged.Wednesday’s visit was to ensure he has completed his routine check with specialists at the hospital, according to the source.
The governor on Monday attended 9, Harley Street Clinic, where he met with Professor Paul O’Flynn, a specialist on ear, nose and throat (ENT).
It was also gathered that before Wednesday’s operation at the Endoscopy Unit, Chime had visited the hospital once in the last two weeks and had four appointments with O’Flynn since the beginning of this month.
