Police Arrest Married Man For Faking His Kidnapping To Cheat On His Girlfriend With Another Woman

2 Min Read

This sounds clumsy, right? But it really is simple. Warren Green is a married man who also has two girlfriends. He lied to the first girlfriend that he had been kidnapped just so that he could visit the other girlfriend without the first one’s knowledge.

He had asked a friend to call the first girlfriend – Chelsea Linn, and make up the kidnap story.

But luck ran out on him when Linn called the police to report the alleged kidnapping and he was arrested when he returned to her apartment.

When interrogated by police, the 33-year-old continued to maintain that he had been accosted by two white males who put a hood on his head and bundled him into a Volkswagen Passat before whisking him away to an undisclosed location.

However, the policemen who remained unconvinced checked his clothes and phone records and discovered his story did not add up.

When his movement was traced through a CCTV camera, he was found to have been shaking hands and laughing with the same men he claimed kidnapped him just moments before the alleged kidnap.

A trace on his phone led to an apartment where the men found there denied any knowledge of a kidnapping.

It was at this point that he confessed to the police that he had been lying all along.

When he was charged to court, his lawyer, David Patterson, defending, said that his client had ‘instantly regretted’ making up the story and the whole thing ‘started off as a joke’.

The judge sentenced him to 120 hours of unpaid community service.

Green had left his wife and two children in London, England to visit Linn in Edinburgh, Scotland.
