Delta State Governor, Emmanuel Uduaghan, has approved the sum of N20 billion for the expansion of the Asaba-Ughelli dual carriage way.
State Commissioner for Special infrastructure, Barrister (Mrs.) Orezi Esievo, said N8 billion was approved in 2012 for the presently ongoing Road project which has been split into 3 sections.
She explained, “For section A of the project, the level of work done is about 18 percent and because the contractor was not efficient, the state government decided to terminate the contact, section B has recorded great improvement of about 60 percent while section C is also ongoing and has recorded about 15 percent level of completion.”
She also revealed that the sum of N10 billion was being sought for the construction of four new polytechnics across the Sapele and Abigborodo in Warri Local Government Areas and the two others at Bomadi and Aboh, Ndokwa Local Government Areas of the state.
She added, “Work on their construction has begun, and the one in Abigborodo and Bomadi have not been awarded but the process is on and they would be awarded in no distant time”.
