After a string of wonderful performances for Seattle Sounders, Obafemi Martins has been invited by Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh for the 2018 World Cup double-header qualifiers against Swaziland.
The Sounders are currently fourth in the Eastern Conference of the Major League Soccer (MLS) in the United States of America.
Martins has been invited after more than two years of last donning the green-white-green jersey.
He currently has 17 goals and 13 assists this season for his club. While the goal record is the highest by any player in a season for the club, his assist equals the existing record.
Martins, who celebrated his 31st year birthday on Wednesday, is expected to be part of the team to Lobamba in Swaziland for the first leg on November 13 and also feature in the return leg in Port Harcourt on November 17.
