The primary index of the Nigerian Stock Exchange bounced back from two days of losses to post a moderate gain of 0.11% despite weak demand recorded in the morning session. The All Share Index lost 1.30% yesterday. The index gained 31 basis points to close at 29,700.08 basis points at the end of trading today. Market Capitalization for the market at the close of trading today was N10.20 trillion.
The total number of deals recorded on the floor reduced by 1.25%against an 11.5% increase recorded yesterday, even as all other indices ended the day positive. The total volume of shares traded on the floor increased by 7.61% after increasing by 29.27% yesterday, while the total value of transactions recorded surged by 109.11% against a 19.55% increase recorded yesterday.
The top five most actively traded shares by volume on the exchange today were UBA, ZENITHBANK, CONTINSURE, GUARANTY and ACCESS with a combined total of 102 million shares traded.
Market breadth closed negative as FO led 21 Gainers against 23 Losers led by MOBIL.
