The ministerial nomination of Chief Audu Ogbeh by President Muhammadu Buhari has received the backing of former Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Alhaji Abubakar Tsav, who said that Ogbeh deserved the honour.
Tsav made the disclosure in response to the recent outcry against Ogbeh’s nomination by a section of youths in Benue state.
It will be recalled that former Governor of Kaduna in the Second Republic, Alhaji Balarabe Musa equally endorsed Chief Audu Ogbeh’s nomination last week, describing him as an experienced politician who could be trusted to deliver in any position he occupies.
Tsav described the former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party as a honest man whose integrity had never been in question.
Furthermore, he said that the nomination was good for the sake of equity and justice, stating that it was good for an Idoma (Ogbeh’s ethnic group) to be made a minister since the incumbent governor is of Tiv extraction.
“The hue and cry by some of our people over the nomination of Dr. Innocent Audu Ogbeh as Benue state ministerial nominee is uncalled for,” he stressed.
