The former governor of Bayelsa state, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha is dead.
The embattled politician was recently declared wanted by officials in the United Kingdom on allegations of money laundering.
He was born on November 16, 1952, Ogboin North Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
Alamieseigha joined the Nigeria Defence Academy in 1974 after passing out from Bishop Dimeari Grammar School, Yenagoa.
He joined the Nigeria Air Force afterwards where he served in the Department of Logistics and Supply.
He was in the Air Force until 1992 when he retired as a Squadron Leader, having held different positions in Enugu, Benue and Lagos.
After his stint with the Air Force, he was with Pabod Supplies Port Harcourt where he became Sole Administrator, and was later made Head of Budget, Planning, Research and Development of the National Fertiliser Company (NAFCON).
After winning the governorship elections in Bayelsa for the second time, he was impeached on corruption allegations on December 9, 2005.
