Red hot Argentine striker, Sergio Aguero grabbed five goals as Manchester City recovered from a goal down to demolish Newcastle 6-1 at the Etihad and return to the top of the table.
Sergio Aguero destroyed Newcastle single-handedly as Manchester City replaced Manchester United at the top of the Premier League.
The Magpies had been leading 1-0 through Aleksandar Mitrovic’s 18th-minute strike and only some great keeping from Joe Hart had kept nervy City in the match.
However, Aguero levelled three minutes from half time before the visitors collapsed as they continued their worst start to a top flight season in more than 100 years.
Aguero netted his second and third goals in the 49th and 50th minutes, Kevin De Bruyne’s volley made it 4-1 on 53 minutes before Aguero continued his incredible day.
He made it 5-1 on the hour and two minutes later netted his fifth and City’s sixth.
In 22 incredible minutes he touched the ball nine times and scored five goals.
Newcastle were utterly shattered by the Argentinian’s second-half display as they had been the better side fo the first 42 minutes and looked like extending City’s losing Premier League run to three matches.
However, they ended the day at the foot of the table as the pressure continues to grow on manager Steve McClaren. whose side have not won in the League this season.
