Messer Oyetunde Ishola, a student, has been remanded in prison by an Ilorin Magistrates’ Court, Kwara State, on Wednesday for allegedly defiling a nine-year-old girl.
The prosecutor, Mr Ajide Kehinde, told the court that the accused person allegedly lured the girl into his room and had cranal knowledge of her.
The prosecutor said that the accused was charged with Criminal Conspiracy and defilement, contrary to sections 97 and 282 of the Penal Code Law.
He objected to the bail of the accused on the ground that the alleged offence was not bailable.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty.
The Magistrate, Foluke Olokoyo, acceded to the submission of the prosecutor and ordered that the accused be remanded at Okekura Prison Yard, Ilorin.
She adjourned the case till October 8 for further mention.
