African Champions, the Super Falcons, have dropped to 38th spot in the World football governing body, FIFA, ranking that was released on Friday.
The Nigerian girls fell nine places as the biggest drop, but maintained their spot on the continent with 1,602 points, while they are being trailed by Cameroon, Ghana, Equatorial Guinea, South Africa, Cote d’ Ivoire, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Senegal, Congo and Mali.
Meanwhile, there is no change at the top as the leading teams have not played many matches since the publication of the last edition shortly after the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015, with the reigning world champions, the United States of America, continue to hold a lead over Germany and France.
The next FIFA/Coca-Cola Women’s World Ranking will be published on December 18, 2015.
