Commission approves 64, 432 NCE certificates in 1 year

The Lagos State Government has promised to sustain and eventually raise the standard of education in the state in the nearest future.

Speaking as a special guest at a quarterly education stakeholders’ forum in Ikeja, which had owners of private schools in attendance, the Deputy Governor, Dr. Idiat Olurant Adebule said education was the bedrock of development of any society and any serious minded government would do well to take adequate care of it.

Adebule who was represented by a Permanent Secretary in her office, Mr. Michael Daodu, urged private school owners to comply with all policies and programmes guiding their operations, promising that government will continue to provide an enabling environment for them to operate successfully.

Similarly, Director-General of the state’s Education Quality Assurance, Mrs. Ronke Soyombo, tasked the private school owners to be security conscious and prevent unregulated access to their premises by unwanted visitors.

Soyombo advised the owners to go beyond just checking the identification cards of visitors and start opening a visitor’s diaries.

She urged them to check every visitor to their premises no matter how highly-placed they are in society, stating that the measure was to safeguard lives and property of students and school workers.
