Nigeria’s U23 team beat their Ghanaian counterparts 2-0 in a second group game of the male football event of the 2015 All African Games holding in Congo today.
The Dream Team VI, as the team is fondly called by Nigerian football fans, achieved the feat thanks to goals from Kingsley Sokari and Junior Ajayi.
With this result, the Samson Siasia-tutored team have edged closer to the semi-finals of the event with a game at hand.
They will next play Senegal in the third group game of the competition.
Nigeria was billed to play Egypt in the first group game but the Egyptians withdrew their male and female teams from the competition with no disclosed reason days before the commencement of the games.
